Safety Coordinator*

The safety coordinator reports to the Director of Safety and is assigned to one or two projects at a time. You will be on site every day, coaching crews and supervisors and helping make safety part of the production plan rather than separate from it.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections and weekly program audits
• Lead new-hire orientation and toolbox talks
• Review pre-task plans, excavation permits, crane lift plans and confined-space permits
• Investigate incidents and near misses and track corrective actions
• Maintain OSHA logs and subcontractor safety documentation

Requirements

• 3 or more years of construction safety experience; heavy civil preferred
• OSHA 30 required; CHST or ASP preferred, with support toward CSP
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1926 and confined-space entry requirements
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to stop work when needed
