Halvorsen Pike Constructors has been selected by Cascadia Regional DOT for a five-year, $60 million on-call bridge repair agreement covering two of the department's regions. Work orders will include deck repair, bearing replacement, expansion joint upgrades, scour countermeasures and emergency structure repair.

The agreement was awarded after a qualifications-based competition in which firms were evaluated on bridge experience, emergency response capability, safety record and DBE outreach. Our proposal highlighted the Skookum Creek Bridge, the North Fork seismic retrofit and 112 emergency call-outs since 2016.

"On-call work rewards contractors who show up quickly and document everything," said Ray Tolliver, Vice President of Operations. "Our superintendents and our force-account records are our credentials here."

The first work orders are expected this fall. A dedicated project manager and a four-person crew will be assigned to the program, supported by the Vancouver equipment yard and the company's in-house engineering group.
