Water Treatment Plants

Overview

What we deliver

We build drinking water treatment plants that need to perform the day they go online. Our experience covers conventional and direct filtration, dissolved air flotation, ultrafiltration and nanofiltration membranes, UV disinfection, ozone, chlorine and chloramine systems, and the chemical feed and storage facilities that support them. Plant capacities range from 5 MGD to 60 MGD.

Building next to a running plant

Most of our treatment projects are expansions or upgrades of an operating facility. We prepare a detailed tie-in plan for every connection to a live process: scope, valve isolation, bypass arrangement, disinfection and pressure testing, the people involved and the fallback if something fails. Plant operators approve each plan, and we rehearse the more complex tie-ins on paper before they happen.

Quality of the finished structures

Water-retaining concrete is placed to ACI 350 with controlled mixes, waterstops and testing. Basins are leak-tested to the owner's criteria, and we carry out final coating of interior surfaces with NSF/ANSI 61-certified systems applied by inspected crews. Process piping is installed to tight tolerances, hydrostatically tested and documented before the system is handed to the equipment suppliers for start-up.

We coordinate electrical, instrumentation and controls work with the owner's integrator, and we schedule factory acceptance testing, loop checks, functional testing and operator training as discrete project milestones.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

01 How do you keep the plant running during construction?
Each tie-in is planned as a discrete event with its own shutdown window, bypass plan, test and disinfection sequence. The operations team signs off on every plan before we start.
02 Do you self-perform the concrete?
Yes. Our concrete crews build the basins, buildings and structures; process piping and mechanical equipment installation are generally also self-performed. Specialty work such as membranes and UV systems is installed by the equipment suppliers under our coordination.
03 Can you work under CM/GC or progressive design-build?
Yes, and we recommend it for complex tie-ins. Early involvement allows us to price alternatives, sequence the work around operations and order long-lead equipment before design is complete.
04 Do you handle state health department approvals?
We support the owner's engineer through each step, including testing, bacteriological clearance and required operator certifications, but the owner and engineer remain responsible for permits.
